A Special General Meeting will be held at a later date to amend the Fiji Rugby Union constitution.
The Northland and Suva Rugby Unions both proposed at the FRU AGM last week that there needs to be some changes to the constitution.
According to the FRU constitution, if amendments have to be made then it has to be done in a Special General Meeting as it cannot be done in an AGM.
Outgoing FRU Chairman, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said holding a special general meeting is a costly exercise because earlier this year there was no quorum for the SGM.
Suva Rugby Union Chairman Commander Francis Kean asked Colonel Tikoitoga why the issue has not been dealt with.
Northland Rugby Union President, Ratu Timoci Vesikula said the constitution needs to be changed so that amendments can be discussed even when the FRU President is not in attendance.
He said the change should allow other FRU board members to chair the meeting and allow discussions to take place.
Ratu Vesikula added that this part of the constitution needs to be amended as only the board will know best what is going on at FRU.
