Fiji's Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola is expected to meet with Australian and New Zealand counterparts on Monday.
Kubuabola welcomed the opportunity to continue the constructive dialogue process with it's developed neighbors and inform them of the progress made towards Constitutional reforms and democratic elections, as mapped out in the People's Charter.
He is optimistic that continual engagement and constructive dialogue in Fiji's Roadmap to Elections in 2014 will create an enabling platform towards the eventual restoration of cordial relations with the Governments of Australia and New Zealand.
However, he added that Fiji was not preoccupied with the questions of whether or not to be re-admitted to the Pacific Islands Forum or whether Fiji deserved the removal of sanctions.
Ahead of the meeting, Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr has told ABC news that he doesn't believe that there is a need to allow Fiji back into the forum yet to improve dialogue with the government.
Meanwhile, New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully said he shares Australia's stance on maintaining sanctions against Fiji.
McCully said he doubts there will be grounds to lift economic and travel sanctions or push for Fiji to be readmitted to the Pacific Islands Forum.
The last trilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Fiji, Australia and New Zealand took place in February 2010 in Canberra, Australia.
