Temporary bypass to become permanent fixture for 2 years

Temporary bypass to become permanent fixture for 2 years
Motorists in Suva City will be disappointed to learn that the temporary bypass in front of Village Six Cinemas is to become a permanent fixture over the next two years.

This has been confirmed to Fijivillage by the Fiji Roads Authority.

The plan to construct a temporary bridge to ease traffic due to the closure of Stintson Bridge has now been shelved.

Fiji Roads Authority manager change Mike Rudge said that any new structure is likely to be on a similar alignment of the existing structure.

Elsewhere, for Fletcher Bridge in Vatuwaqa, a temporary one lane bridge will be ready within four months time and will have traffic lights at both ends.

According to Rudge, the Fletcher Bridge will take two years to construct until it is ready to be used.
