RKS/Jasper lead Coke games medal tally
Ratu Kadavulevu School leads the boys division with 2 gold medals.

Marist Brothers High School and Xavier College are in second place with 1 gold and 1 silver. 

Suva Grammar and Nakauvadra Secondary have 1 gold medal each.
 
In the girls division, Jasper Williams High School is leading with 2 gold and 1 silver.

Adi Cakobau School, Saint Joseph's Secondary and Saint John’s College have 1 gold medal each. 

The Grammar girls have 1 silver and 1 bronze while  Vaturova Koroalau High School from Savusavu and Nausori High have 1 silver each.

Saint Joseph’s Secondary Loyola Nawalu has taken gold in the Senior Girls Long Jump event.

Mereseini Naidau of Jasper won the first gold in the girls division for the Lautoka based school when she came in first in the Open Girls 1,500 metres event. 

She said the recent floods did not deter her from continuing with her training and she thanks the supporters in Lautoka for her gold medal win. 

Jasper’s second gold has come from Iliana Bakeirewa in the Junior Girls High Jump.

Litiana Caucau of Saint John’s College won gold in the Intermediate Girls Discus event. 

In the boys division, Farisiko Mualivu won gold for Suva Grammar in the Junior Boys 1,500 metres final. 

Marist Brothers High School's Zubair Dean won gold in the Intermediate Boys 1,500 metres.

Dean who was in Suva Muslim College last year says his father who is his main trainer always had a dream for him to win gold for Marist.

 
Epeli Batisila of Nakauvadra Secondary claimed the gold medal in the Senior Boys 1,500 metres event. 

Emosi Bure of QVS took silver while Ashneel Nand of Tavua College took bronze.

Batisila who took the silver last year says he had set his target to beat Bure this year.

He also said the training in the rocky highlands three times in a day has paid off for him.

Marika Matabalei of RKS has taken the first gold medal in the field event after winning the Intermediate Boys Javelin.

RKS also won gold in the Senior Boys Shot Put.

Kiniviliame Tako has dedicated his gold medal win to all the RKS supporters.


The 4x400 metres heats are currently underway.

The 100 metres heats start at 5.25 this afternoon. 

The 400 metres finals commence at 7.25pm while the 100 metres finals start at 7.49 tonight.
