Fiji/Aust Police Discuss Porn Ring

Fiji Police has not ruled out the possibility that the child pornography ring uncovered in Australia last week could have links to Fiji via locals or expatriates.

Chief of Staff-Operations, SSP Berenando Daveta confirms that in the routine contact with their Australian counterparts, the matter has been discussed.

Daveta said given the fact that a number of cases have emerged in the past in Fiji involving child porn, they are now awaiting the Australian Police to complete analyzing the videos confiscated in raids before they can say anything further on the matter.

Two teachers and a former police officer were arrested in relation to the child porn ring and Australian Police confirmed earlier that most of the videos were produced overseas and collated and distributed in Australia.
