A 60 year old woman is still in CWM hospital after she was rescued by a team of police officers and villagers from Namosi after a two day ordeal up in the Waimanu Hills.
A report was lodged at the Lami Police Station by the woman's 30 year old daughter who had accompanied her mother and 16 year old sister to catch prawns.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the woman had left with her two daughters on Wednesday morning and arrived at their destination at about 5pm and camped for the night.
While searching for prawns in a nearby river the woman started experiencing body pains.
According to Naisoro while making their way back to Veisari, the 60 year old mother of 10 felt she could not go any further and they decided that her 30 year old daughter return for help while she waited with her younger daughter.
The daughter walked approximately six hours to get help and a report was lodged at the Lami Police Station on Thursday afternoon.
The woman was airlifted by Heli Fiji helicopter to CWM Hospital.
