More than 2000 people are expected to spend their Christmas in the various evacuation centers around the country.

DISMAC Director Manasa Tagicakibau said that as of this morning 55 evacuation centers are still open with more than 2000 evacuees as their homes have been completely damaged by Tropical Cyclone Evan.

He also said that a relief ration will be provided to these evacuees and a medical team will also be assisting them.

Tagicakibau said that they will also try to issue tarpaulins to these families so that they can return to their respective places to spend Christmas.
