$4M upgrade for health centers
$4 million will be used for the major upgrades of health centers across the country, while $900,000 will be allocated for minor repairs.

This is part of the Capital Projects to be carried out by the Ministry of Health for the first and second quarters.

According to the Minister of Health Dr Neil Sharma the Lautoka hospital will see some major upgrades as its servicing a large population in the West.

Three additional operating theaters will be set up along with a cardiac-cath laboratory next year.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has increased its human resource capacity with a total of 2,500 nurses recruited into the workforce.
