A number of top athletes are likely to lose their spot in the Team Fiji squad for the Pacific Games in August.
Fiji Athletics Association, President, Albert Miller said that some of the athletes who were eyed to be in the Fiji team for the Pacific Games in New Caledonia failed to turn up to the trial yesterday.
Miller said most of these athletes have opted to focus in their school preparation for the Coca Cola Games and a decision will be made next week on their fate in the national squad.
Notable names that did not take part in yesterday's competition were Lepani Naivalu, Eroni Cagi, Paulini Korowaqa, Suliano Gusuivalu and Makitalena Lokolokobuka.
The Coca Cola Games will start on Friday at the TFL Stadium.
