Official opening of ANZ stadium expected June 11th

The official opening of the ANZ stadium is expected to take place on the 11th of next month which will be a day before the Classic All Blacks face the Fiji 15s team.

Fiji Sports Council Chairman Peter Mazey said the tentative date is the 11th of June and a committee is working towards the official opening.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Sports Council has confirmed it will be applying to the IRB to host an IRB 7s series tournament at the ANZ stadium for the 2014 and 2015 series.

Mazey said a group of IRB officials inspected the new stadium during the Coca-Cola Games and were impressed with the new facility.
