After serving three months in prison, former Fiji National Provident Fund CEO and general manager Olota Rokovunisei has been released.
It has been confirmed that Rokovunisei, who was sentenced to 11 months imprisonment, will serve the remainder of the sentence extramurally.
Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services media officer Ana Tamani said Rokovunisei will do community work at the head office six hours per week.
Tamani said the extramural sentence is another solution given to inmates serving short sentences to address overcrowding in prison.
Rokovunisei was found guilty of charges of extortion by a public officer and abuse of office.
