No amendments considered for media decree-AG
The Attorney General stressed that the Media Industry Development Decree is clear on issues relating to foreign ownership and cross media ownership, and he said no amendments have been considered since the decree came into effect on the 28th of last month.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said no approaches have been made by the Fiji Times which is 100 percent foreign owned.

There is no indication at all that an extension would be given to the company which has to sell off 90 percent of it's shares to local buyers by September 28th this year.

Sayed-Khaiyum said the decree is in effect and everyone should follow the set time frame.
