Athletics Fiji looks for funds

Athletics Fiji looks for funds
Athletics Fiji is now looking for funds to send five athletes to the World Youth Championship in Ukraine in July after they qualified during the Coca-Cola Games.

This is also a historical achievement for Fiji as the International Association of Athletics Federation quota is one athlete but Fiji is the only nation in the Pacific to have athletes qualifying on merit this year.

The athletes include Aaron Powell, Jacob Waqanivalu, Batinisavu Uluiyata, Saula Nodrakoro and Danielle Alakija.

Athletics Fiji President Albert Miller said they are finalizing the details about the requirements for the championship but money is the main issue.

Miller added that athletes who did well last week are in their squad and they will finalize it next month before the Pacific Mini Games.
