It is grossly unfair to send boarders home as they have paid their fees and are entitled to stay the full term at the hostel.
This is the view of Former Hostel Head girl of Labasa College, Luisa Cabenalawa reacting to revelations that 216 hostel students were sent home last week.
Cabenalawa is also calling on the school to do something.
The 86 girls and 130 boys were sent home and told to find another place to stay for the remainder of the school term.
The School confirmed that they have asked for an increased allocation but were informed that this was not possible. Apparently they are allocated $10,000 a term for food for more than 200 boarders.
Labasa College principal, Sarafina Saukilagi is expected to comment later.
