Six DVD outlets in Suva have been raided by police for allegedly selling pirated DVDs and CDs.
Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said the raids were carried out by the Police Copyright team and thousands of pirated DVDs and CDs have been confiscated.
He said the owners have been questioned and released.
When questioned on what will happen to the DVDs and CDs confiscated, Sokomuri said they are still investigating and he cannot reveal any further details.
A number of raids were also carried out in the Western Division, however no one has been charged yet.
