Rural poverty has increased and is worse than what it was in 2008/2009 according to a Poverty in Fiji report by Dr Warden Narsey launched today.
Dr Narsey said nationally the urban average household income increased by 19% while rural household income declined by minus 13%.
The Poverty in Fiji report took a year to compile and was funded by AUSAID in partnership with Fiji Bureau of Statistics.
