Fiji govt presents cheque to Aust govt
The Fijian Government presented a cheque to the Australian Government for funds restrained and forfeited in Fiji involving an Australian fraud case.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum handed the cheque of $88,974.97 to the Acting Australian High Commissioner Glenn Miles.

Miles said this brings a resolution to the case of Ross William Macarthur which has been happening since October 2000.

Sayed-Khaiyum said the Fiji governments’ position has always been a very principled one.

Financial Intelligence Unit Director Razim Buksh said the process took one year from May 2012 to forfeit the funds.
