Amongst the many victims of Tropical Cyclone Evan in Lautoka is the Gonecawaqa family of Vio Island.
According to Vilisi Gonecawaqa, the strong winds that hit Lautoka on Monday afternoon has left them homeless.
According to Gonecawaqa, when the roof of their home was ripped off, the couple and their 9 month old baby ran for safety to a neighbor’s house, and today they are still sheltering there with seven other families.
Meanwhile, Vilisi’s husband Isaia who is the only breadwinner and works as a diver, is now looking for a boat that he can use to start earning the family some Christmas money.
