There is no major damage to our hospitals and health centers after Tropical Cyclone Evan according to the Ministry of Health.
Permanent secretary Dr Eloni Tora said they are still assessing the damage therefore cannot confirm the costs right now.
Tora confirmed that though some damage was sustained but will not affect operations.
Meanwhile, 100% of health facilities at all divisional, sub-divisional hospitals, health centres, and nursing stations are operational today and will be able to resume full service from tomorrow.
Eighty percent of health facilities have been confirmed to be well stocked with their vital consumables and drugs.
The remaining 20 percent are yet to be ascertained from health facilities and this will be done today.
Navua hospital’s general outpatient department is operating out of Matanitobua House until further notice while the Nausori heath centre has been relocated to Navunivivi hill.
All health facilities within the Suva subdivision will open from 8am to 4:30pm until further power and water restoration.
