An Officer Academy for the Fiji Police is expected to be set up next year in an effort to lift “leadership aspects” that according to the Commissioner, is really needed in the Fiji Police Force.
Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua said they need to invest a lot more into building a good successful planning template and select the right people that will be ready to take the Force forward in the next few years.
He added that at present the Fiji Police Force has enough manpower and it is all about realigning the force against emerging and challenging issues.
Naivalurua said 2012 has been a challenging year with a central theme to improve the Fiji Police Force into a trustworthy force face with internal challenges from leadership capabilities, elements of changing internal organs and retraining.
