Hunt continues for 2 more remand prisoners

The hunt continues for two more remand prisoners who escaped from Korovou prison last night.

The two were part of a group of four that made the daring escape at 10.25pm.

The four were seen jumping over the fence at Korovou Prison and boarding a taxi.

The taxi driver reported dropping them at Sukanaivalu Road.

Two escapees caught this morning were Viliame Tuibua and Frank Konave.

Konave was recaptured at 4.50 this morning in Nanuku settlement, Vatuwaqa, by a Nabua Recapture Team, while Tuibua was caught between Bulei and Navitavaya at Laucala Beach Estate in the last hour by the Valelevu Operations Team.

24-year-old Iowane Benidito of Kinoya and 23-year-old Sanaila Tabuavula of Veirasi Settlement are still on the run this hour.

This brings the total number of prisoners on the run to six.
