Despite the devastating impact on the dairy industry due to the outbreak of the cattle disease, brucellosis, local milk production is up by 10 percent this year.
Member of the Rewa Dairy Board and Director of Dairy Farms Fiji, David Wilson said this was achieved through the incentives put in place by the government to assist the dairy industry.
Wilson said their aim is to increase production by 15 percent next year.
Meanwhile, Wilson said the best way government can assist Rewa Dairy through the 2010 budget is to ensure speedy revision of product prices when operational costs increase.
