Suva will see the most modern and attractive shop designs ever witnessed in Fiji when Damodar City opens early next year in Laucala Bay.
CEO of Damodar Brothers, Div Damodar said that a fitout Planning by Tenants have been signed up where tenants are encouraged to express their unique flair, emotions, talents and dreams in the design of their shops at the City.
Damodar said that they have secured the Cinema contract with Event Cinema's Limited however more details are expected to be released later.
He said so far 75 percent shops are already occupied.
Damodar said that 200 workers are working in the construction of the City while another 100 workers are offsite doing work through the sub contract work.
He said that direct Employment benefits from the City when in full operation is expected to be over 400.
The $30million project construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of Dec this year however Damodar said that based on unforeseen and uncontrollable factors such as weather conditions, contract variation issues as a result of tenancy requirements, they may be looking at opening the City early next year.
He said that some tenants wish to open partially in December and they are doing their best to accommodate the requests.
The city will have four screen cinemas, supermarkets, departmental stores and food court, 23 retail shops, fine dining restaurants, a kids play area and a 210 car parking area.
