No excuse for Govt vehicles to speed
There is no excuse for drivers of government vehicles to be caught speeding.

These are the words of Police Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalarua who has raised concern on the increasing number of government vehicles and drivers found to be breaching road rules and regulations.

Brigadier General Naivalarua said it has been found out that a number of government vehicles have been caught speeding and careless driving.

The Police Commissioner has also called on government departments and relevant authorities to look at ways of better monitoring vehicle movement for better security of the occupants and government property.

Naivalurua said while some government departments have taken up initiatives such as bumper stickers displaying the number of their line Permanent Secretary for people to report the misuses of vehicles, there needs to be a more serious approach.

He suggests that a central monitoring system should be set up to monitor movement of government vehicles.
