Two former Fiji Ports Corporation Limited executives Sialeni Vuetaki and Alipate Naiorosui have walked free today.
This is after the FICAC lawyers made an application at the Suva Magistrates Court to withdraw the charges as there was not enough evidence.
Vuetaki and Naiorosui were charged with abuse of office and the duo denied the charges brought by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption.
It was alleged that in 2010 Naiorosui allegedly approved a $177,000 pre-retirement payment to former chief executive officer Herbert Hazelman without the knowledge of the Fiji Ports Board, of which Vuetaki was chairman.
