In an aim to increase sugarcane production the Fiji Sugar Corporation has acquired a piece of land in Seaqaqa.
FSC Chairman Abdul Khan said they are looking at acquiring land in other areas in Viti Levu.
Meanwhile, close to two million tonnes of sugar cane are expected to be crushed this year to produce about 180,000 tonnes of sugar.
