Changes likely in Social Protection Programmes
Changes may be seen in the Social Protection Programmes provided in Fiji from next year.

Ministry of Social Welfare Permanent Secretary, Govind Sami confirmed that they have made a number of proposals to the Ministry of Finance on reforming the protection programmes however any changes to it will be announced in the 2013 budget on Thursday.

Currently the Social Welfare Ministry provides Family Assistance and Food Voucher Assistance to around 21,000 people while bus and taxi fare concessions are being provided to around 29,550 people.
