Fiji created history in the Pacific by celebrating International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia for the first time yesterday.
The Celebration organisers: The Drodrolagi Movement, a social and support network for lesbians and gays in USP fought hard for the day to be recognised.
Though recently formed, the Movement has yet to be affiliated with the Students’ Association due to rejections by USP Student Council twice.
Noelene Nabulivou one of the 120 participants at the celebration said it’s about human rights in diversity.
