160 cases of Tuberculosis were recorded this year which was an increase of four cases compared to last year.
Medical Superintendent TB Control Officer Dr Sakiusa Mainawalala said that this was not really a concern as they have managed to cure 90% of the patients from last year.
He added that most of the cases are from the central division and majority of the age group is from 15 to 25 years.
Meanwhile three buildings at PJ Twomey Hospital Outpatients Department and TB Wards were refurbished and opened yesterday with funding support from the Global Fund against TB, AIDS and Malaria in Tamavua of $371,599.
