Former Fiji citizens die in Canada road accident
Three former Fiji citizens have lost their lives after a car accident in Surrey, Canada, last Friday.

The deceased’s relative in Fiji, Mohammed Afzal, said there were five people in the car at the time of the incident.

61-year-old Zarina Begum, her 41-year-old son Shahir Khan and 49-year-old son-in-law Samad Khan died at the scene while a 42-year-old female driver and 70-year-old passenger escaped with some injuries.

The deceased Zarina Begum, who was a resident of Valelevu, Nasinu, had been staying in Canada with her family for the past 5 years and they had come to Fiji earlier this year to celebrate Eid with their relatives.

Meanwhile, according to News 1130, the three people died after a rollover on the Coquihalla Highway in Surrey.
