Diver dies while diving for beach-de-mer

Forty-four people have lost their lives due to drowning so far compared to 25 last year.

A 40-year-old diver of Drasa, Vitogo, Lautoka, drowned early yesterday morning while diving for beach-de-mer with four other men.

Police said the deceased was trying to enter into a small opening in the reef of the Naviti waters when the rope that he was tied to got tangled.

This is the second incident where a diver has lost his life due to a diving mishap.
