Housing Minister resigns
Minister for Housing and Local Government, Colonel Samuela Saumatua has resigned for personal reasons. 

Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum will assume the position on an acting basis until Colonel Saumatua's successor is appointed. 

The Government has thanked Colonel Saumatua for his service to the Fijian people and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

When asked by Fjivillage, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Colonel Pio Tikoduadua said they can only say that the Minister resigned for personal reasons. 

No further comments will be made.
