30 students from Fiji are eligible for the I-Taukei scholarship to study in different universities in Malaysia this year.
The scholarship is only eligible to Rotuman and I-Taukei students who are Fiji citizens.
That was confirmed by the Permanent Secretary of the I-Taukei Affairs Ministry who met with the delegation from the universities of Malaysia today.
Kaunisela said that Fiji will continue to send more students to Malaysia under the I-Taukei Affairs funds.
This is to breach the education gap between the I-Taukei students and other races in Fiji.
Courses include civil engineering, agriculture and electrical and sports education.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Malaysia is currently in Fiji to speak to parents and students in Suva and also in Lautoka.
Head of the delegation Kabilan Muniandy said the students will face a delay in their visas due to the new visa policy in Malaysia.
