Maravu is the sprint king of 2013 Coca-Cola Games

Savusavu’s Beniamino Maravu of Saint Bedes College is the sprint king of the 2013 Coca-Cola Games after he won the 200 Senior Boys final in style in the last hour.

Maravu took gold, Suva Grammar’s Kemueli Waqa took silver while Sailosi Niuvati of Natabua High took bronze.

Maravu also won the 100 metres Senior Boys final last night and is the first athlete from Saint Bedes College to win these major events.

The sprint queen for this year’s games as predicted by Fijivillage is Saint Josephs Secondary School’s Sisilia Seavula who won the 200 Senior Girls final in the last hour.

Timaima Qica of Sila Central took silver while Adi Cakobau School's Elenoa Sailosi took bronze.

Sisilia Seavula was emotional after winning her second gold medal for Saint Josephs Secondary School.

Seavula dedicates her win to her mother.

With thousands of people trying to congratulate Sisilia after her magnificent win, Sisilia only wishes she could celebrate her victory with her late father today.

Silver was taken by Meli Nayacalevu of Tailevu North College while Ratu Kadavulevu School’s Vereti Naruku took the bronze.

Queen Victoria School’s Josua Serukilagi has won gold and set a new record in the Junior Boys Discus.

Serukilagi's record throw was 48.92 metres compared to the old record that stood at 47.70 metres.

14 records have tumbled so far in this year’s Coca-Cola Games.

Defending champion in the boys division, Marist Brothers High School leads the Fijivillage medal tally with 8 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze.

QVS is in second place with 6 gold and 1 silver.

Suva Grammar is in third place with 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.

Natabua is in fourth place with 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.

Marist Brothers High School's Simione Isimeli has won gold in the Senior Boys Triple Jump, silver has gone to Peni Davuke of LDS and Sireli Bulivorovoro of Natabua High settled for bronze.  

Jasper Williams High School leads the Fijivillage medal tally in the girls division of the 2013 Coca-Cola Games as Mereseini Naidau won gold for Jasper in the 3000 metres girl's final this morning.

Jasper leads the girls division with 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze.

Saint Josephs Secondary School and Xavier College are tied in second place with 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze each.

ACS is next with 3 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze.

Alice Peters of Saints Josephs won gold in the Junior Girls Shot Put.

Peters dedicated her win to her grandmother.

Peters added that her grandmother was not able to watch her throw due to work commitments.

Bulou Bativunilagi settled for silver while bronze went to Jiowana Sauto of William Cross College.

The 4x100 metres finals are currently underway while the 4x400 metres finals start at about 2pm.
