Education Tribunal to be set up for student disputes

Education Tribunal to be set up for student disputes
The Ministry of Education is now looking at setting up an Education Tribunal to settle disputes for students.

Permanent Secretary Dr. Brij Lal said that he has received the report from Acting Minister Commander Viliame Naupoto and that they will look into it soon.

Dr. Lal said they cannot confirm when the tribunal will be set up.

With the Fiji School Leaving Certificate Examination results released, 42 students have received zero marks in a paper for being involved in malpractice during their examination.

Meanwhile, 8 of the 11 students of Labasa Sangam College who received zero marks in their Fiji Seventh Form Biology paper have agreed to re-sit the paper.

One of the parents of the students, Umesh Kumar said this is the only option left for them as hunger strikes or arguments will not solve the matter.
