Civil servants in North and West told to stay home today
Civil servants in the Northern and Western Divisions have been told not to go to work today.

Permanent secretary for the Ministry of Information Sharon Smith-Johns said following the weather conditions, this has been decided while civil servants in other areas are expected to report to work until any further advisory.

In addition to this government has requested everyone to be ready for any impending disaster.

Sharon Smith-Johns said people had ample time to prepare themselves from this tropical cyclone.

Smith-Johns added that all government agencies are on standby and ready to assist.

She said people should not take this lightly, keep track of the situation and be in touch with family and friends.

Meanwhile, necessary items such as food rations have been sent to those evacuation centers which have been activated.
