With the 2010 National Budget announcement next Friday, Tourism Fiji is hopeful for a positive allocation.
Chairman Patrick Wong said they are looking at over 20 million dollars in allocation as he believes tourism is the main industry that can turn Fiji's economy around.
Wong said the marketing of Fiji overseas is going according to plan and there is a positive outlook for next year especially with the commencement of Air Pacific's Nadi-Hong Kong service and Continental Micronesia's Honolulu service via Guam and V-Australia replacing its sister Virgin Blue group airline, Pacific Blue, on the Sydney-Nadi route with more modern jets and increased capacity.
Government allocated $23.5 million dollars to Tourism Fiji this year.
The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will announce the 2010 National Budget on the 27th of this month.
