McCaw breaks his public silence
Richie McCaw has broken his public silence and revealed he could return to the Crusaders earlier than expected and play Super Rugby before the playoffs.

The All Black captain suggested impending chats with Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder and All Blacks boss Steve Hansen would nail down a date for his return to action.

McCaw said it was still too early to confirm whether or not he would return to the Crusaders team before the playoffs.

McCaw ran and did a weights session by himself last week, and conceded it was “a bit of a shock to the system”.

He will look to steadily improve his fitness over the next two months as he attempts to work his way back into top shape for the All Blacks’ opening Rugby Championship game against Australia in Sydney on August 17.

The Crusaders will meet the Blues at 7.35pm Saturday.
