No discussions amongst govt to form a political party - AG
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said there have been no discussions amongst government about forming a political party.

He was responding to Radio New Zealand if the government was considering forming a political party and running in the 2014 polls.

Sayed-Khaiyum said such talk is a red herring put about by politicians who are feeling like fish out of the water among a new generation of voters.

Sayed-Khaiyum said the crux of the issue is that the key political parties have as their basis an ethnic agenda and they have never contested elections by having to appeal to all citizens.
