Bookshop owner allegedly selling assistance forms questioned

Bookshop owner allegedly selling assistance forms questioned
The owner of the bookshop in Labasa who was allegedly selling photocopied Save the Children stationery assistance forms for needy children has been questioned by police.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirms they received the complaint from Save the Children Fiji after the organization received a form from a woman who bought it from the bookshop.

Naisoro said the bookshop owner has been released under caution and Police are now in the process of summarizing the file and will forward it to the DPP's office for their advice.

Naisoro said it is sad to note that while there are organizations that are willing to assist those in need of help there are others who are taking advantage of this assistance.

Police will not condone such actions and as such investigations will be conducted thoroughly to ensure those who are genuinely willing to help those in need are not taken advantage of.
