Former Lelean Memorial School under 19 rugby center Setareki Tamanivalu will face off with one of his old teammates in the first match of the Uprising Fiji International Sevens tournament.
Tamanivalu, who has just arrived with the New Zealand Emerging side this morning in Nadi, said he has a lot of good memories with Metuisela Talebula and one of them is from 2010 when they won the Deans trophy for Lelean.
He added his dream was to play for Fiji but he is lucky to pursue his rugby career in New Zealand.
Tamanivalu will stay back in Fiji to celebrate his 21st birthday next week.
Another Fijian and All Blacks Sevens team contracted player Luke Masirewa said he is also looking forward to the tournament.
The New Zealand Sevens Emerging team will play its first match against a star studded Uprising Sevens team which includes Talebula, Avenisi Vasuinubu and two former Fiji Bati reps, Apisai Masikerei and Lasaro Turagadrau.
This match kicks off at 12.06pm this Friday and you can catch live commentaries of selected matches on our sister station Viti FM.
