Death toll in Samoa from tropical cyclone Evan expected to rise
The death toll in Samoa from tropical cyclone Evan is expected to rise as several people are still missing.

The only confirmed deaths are two people.

The cyclone passed over the Samoa group a second time last night but it did not cause as much damage on Upolu as the destruction it left in its wake on Wednesday.

Water and power are still out in most parts of the country.

Air New Zealand was the first flight into Faleolo Airport which re opened early this morning after repairs were made to the runway

The US Ambassador to Samoa has pledged 50,000 dollars for immediate assistance to Samoa through the Samoa Red Cross.
