Quick action by the National Fire Authority and CWM Hospital staff averted a major disaster at the hospital yesterday.
NFA Chief Executive Officer John O’Connor said it was an electrical related issue in the vacuum plant motor which started the fire.
He added that there were thick smoke and they used fire extinguishers to put out the fire.
He confirmed that there were no structural damage to the hospital and no disruptions to the services at the hospital.
