Police have stopped the gathering of some students and parents of Labasa Sangam College in the last hour as they were getting ready to start off their hunger strike as a protest over the zero marks in the Form Seven biology paper.
Parent Rajesh Lal said six Form Seven students together with six parents had gathered at a relative’s home to begin their hunger strike when the police showed up asking for their permit.
Lal maintained the hunger strike will continue at their home.
He is now planning to take the Ministry of Education to court as he said this is the only way they can get the ministry to show them evidence of malpractice.
