PM sends congratulatory note to Tong

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama sent a congratulatory note to the President of Kiribati Anote Tong on his recent Presidential election victory.

In his message, Bainimarama said that President Tong’s win rewards an untiring commitment to serving the Kiribati people in particular and the Pacific peoples in general.

President Tong was this week re-elected to the seat of Presidency in the island nation for a third term.

Commodore Bainimarama said in re-electing Tong, the people of Kiribati have validated their trust in his assurance, stability and positivity.

Fiji and Kiribati have had long standing bilateral relations both through trade and economic partnerships and have worked closely with each other in regional matters.
