$10 million is needed to upgrade all rural roads in 2013 according to the Fiji Roads Authority manager change Mike Rudge.
This will be an increase of $6.5 million from this year’s budget where $3.5 million was allocated.
According to Rudge, funding for the upscale of Fiji’s infrastructure will also be sought from aid agencies along with government.
The main priorities of reform on Fiji roads are improving travel safety, ensuring school accessibility and to help increase microeconomic activities.
According to Rudge, the improvement of roads and drainage should be visible by the end of next year.
