3 month WAF amnesty now over
The 3 month amnesty period that began on May 14th this year, in a bid by the Water Authority of Fiji to give time to a total of 779 illegal customers has now ended.

Chief Executive Officer Opetaia Ravai said illegal customers throughout the country are to be registered and regularized by the authority.

Illegal or direct connection to the Water Authority’s water reticulation system is a crime under the Water Authority of Fiji Promulgation 2007 where some illegal customers were accessing water from a meter but not receiving any bills.

Meanwhile, the Water Authority has received a $15,000 donation from Act for Peace, an International Humanitarian Arm of the National Council of Churches Australia to assist towards their preparedness and risk deduction activities.
