First ever gay divorce in Fiji
The first ever gay divorce in the country was allowed by the Family Court in Suva last week.

Magistrate, Makereta Mua heard that a local who went to Canada got married there.

The couple came back last year and decided to file for divorce.

On Friday, the Magistrate allowed the divorce on the basis that the Canadian national applied for divorce and the local partner is in the country for the past year.
