The festival of lights,Diwali is no longer a festival for just one religious group in Fiji but it has become a multiracial event.
The national secretary for the largest religious Hindu organization in the country, Shri Sanatan Dharam Prathinidhi Sabha said Diwali is an appropriate time for people to look back at what they have done in life and move forward to become better citizens of Fiji.
Vijendra Prakash said Diwali should be celebrated with a lot of hope of betterment and unity for the family, village and the nation.
Christian Mission Fellowship believes Diwali is a wonderful time to share and care about each other.
Speaking on behalf of the church, Pastor Laisenia Vakau said this will bring a strong foundation of understanding of the different races in the country.
Diwali will be celebrated tomorrow.
