Don’t Be Alarmed says Interim PM

Don’t Be Alarmed says Interim PM
Do not be alarmed.

This is the message from the Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama to the international community adding the tourism and travel world knows that Fiji is the safest tourism destination in the Southern Hemisphere.

In a press statement released, Bainimarama allayed fears by the international media, that Fiji is fast becoming a dangerous place for tourists, saying such reports were misleading.

He said our tourism industry has had its fair share of challenges but we are still one of the best and safest travel destinations the world over and surely the World Tourism and Travel Industry can vouch for that.

Bainimarama said the incident at Natovi involving two tourists being robbed is rather unfortunate adding that those responsible will be taken to task.

However, he said to single out the incident and use it as a weapon of attack on the tourism industry, is pointless and outright misleading. He encourages the yachters to continue visiting Fiji in numbers.
